Meet Dr. Shaina Shah, DMD, D.ABDSM
Born and raised in New Jersey, Dr. Shaina Shah is proud to serve her community at Essex Dental Sleep Center. A Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine, Dr. Shah specializes in managing sleep-related breathing disorders, such as obstructive sleep apnea, through advanced oral appliance therapy.
Her passion for dental sleep medicine is deeply personal—her father, a pulmonologist and board-certified sleep medicine specialist, inspired her to approach care from both dental and medical perspectives. Together, they collaborate to provide patients with comprehensive treatment. Dr. Shah also experienced the life-changing impact of oral appliance therapy firsthand when helping her husband manage his sleep apnea through treatment with oral appliance therapy which allowed him to regain energy, lower his blood pressure, and restore their restful nights.
Dr. Shah’s dedication extends beyond clinical care; she is committed to empowering patients with personalized treatment in a comfortable, supportive environment.

She’ll take your digital impressions using the latest technology, coordinate with your medical insurance to help you maximize your benefits, and keep everything on track behind the scenes so you can focus on one thing: getting the restful sleep you deserve.
She’ll also be there for your follow-up appointments to monitor your progress and make any adjustments needed to keep your treatment as effective and comfortable as possible.

As the Sleep Patient and Outreach Liaison at Essex Dental Sleep Center, Franchesca plays a key role in connecting patients, physicians, and our dental sleep medicine team. With a genuine passion for helping others and a strong commitment to patient care, she ensures every individual feels informed, supported, and guided throughout their sleep treatment journey.
In her role, Franchesca assists with patient communication and education, coordinates outreach efforts with local physicians, and helps grow awareness of oral appliance therapy within the community. Whether she’s attending wellness events, collaborating with healthcare professionals, or following up with patients, She brings a friendly, approachable presence to everything she does.
